Scout.com Evaluation: Garcia is what I would call, a physical cover corner. He is a playmaker and finds the football often. Size wise he is nothing special, but is typical CB size and is more physically developed than a lot of current college DB's. He has great feet, smooth hips and very good ball skills. Garcia will need to stay healthy to show his full potential, but if he does everyone else is in trouble. In addition John needs to work on playing lower and needs to practice more efficient ways of getting off blocks and use his backpedal more in coverage. Sometimes Garcia gets caught peaking in the backfield and relies too much on his athletic ability to make up ground; that won't fly in college because everyone can run at that level. Potentially, Garcia could play CB/FS/WR/RB at the next level, depending on where he lands and what they run. Mid- major prospect with lots of diversity.
