Earlier this week we brought you an interview with Jermaine Geter from Aztec. Today we bring you one of his teammates in Trevor Hammegren. Hammegren runs great routes and has tremendous hands as well, here's what he had to say.

Every year Aztec HS produces one of the better offenses in the state. In order to do that you have to have a great QB and WR’s that can make plays. Earlier this week we brought you an interview with stud WR Jermaine Geter, today we bring you one of his teammates in Trevor Hammegren. Hammegren probably doesn’t have the same speed that Geter has but his hands might be the best in the state. He also doubles as the starting shortstop on the varsity baseball team. Here’s what he had to say.

PrepNewMexico.com: What is your height, weight, 40 times, bench and squat?

Hammegren: HT: 6’0 WT:150 40: 4.8 Bench: 200 Squat: 300

PrepNewMexico.com: What honors did you receive this past season?

Hammegren: Last season I was voted 1st team all district and I was voted all state by several different publications.

PrepNewMexico.com: What was your best memory from this past season?

Hammegren: The best memory I have is really a look at the season in general. We made it a lot further than most people expected us to. We were a better team than people thought we were going to be.

PrepNewMexico.com: What are you doing to prepare for next season?

Hammegren: Right now I’m playing shortstop on the baseball team, but I’m also lifting and running for football. I also do ply metrics and run ladders all the time on my own to improve my speed.

PrepNewMexico.com: What are your strengths as a football player?

Hammegren: My hands are my strength plus my route running is something I really take pride in. Also, my leadership skills are really good.

PrepNewMexico.com: What are your weaknesses as a football player?

Hammegren: I really need to improve on my overall speed and strength as a player.

PrepNewMexico.com: What are your aspirations as far as playing football in college?

Hammegren: Playing football in college is a goal of mine. Right now I don’t have any offers, I’m really interested in West Texas, I have looked into their school and football program and I really like it.

PrepNewMexico.com: Aztec is always known for having a great offense and a great QB, who is the likely QB heading into next year?

Hammegren: Right now Bryson King is our number one guy going into the off-season.

PrepNewMexico.com: What can we expect from your team next year?

Hammegren: I think we can be pretty good, our goal is to always win the district title and make a run at a state championship. Personally I would like to have more than 1000 yards.

We would like to thank Trevor for his time and wish all of the Aztec football team the best of luck this season.
