Mares gets his second offer

Rio Mares informed us today via text message that he just got his second offer. Which school has thrown their hat into the ring for his services? Come inside and check it out.

Over the past couple of weeks we have done several stories on Cibola stud Rio Mares. We broke down his game in a “Tale of the Tape” segment; we also brought you the latest on him in a “Recruiting Update” a few days ago. In that piece he told us that he still only had one offer to speak of but a couple of schools have asked for his tape. Both UCLA and Wisconsin had asked for his tape, he also said he was hearing from UConn and Duke.

We got a bunch of emails saying “why hasn’t New Mexico State gotten in contact with him yet?” The answer to that is they have. Rio Mares sent us a text message this morning stating “New Mexico State just offered me today”. As of right now he has two offers to his credit, New Mexico and New Mexico State. Mares and James Hall from Las Cruces are the two seniors to be that both of the local D1’s have extended offer to.
