Scout.com has announced plans for a combine in Phoenix, Arizona at the Arizona Cardinals stadium.
PrepNewMexico.com is proud to announce that two of New Mexico’s athletes have been asked to participate at the combine and compete against some of the top players from the southwest.
James Hall from Las Cruces has been invited and has confirmed that he will be in attendance and compete. As a junior Hall had a season to remember rushing for over 1700 yards and more than 20 touchdowns leading Las Cruces to a 10-2 record and a semi-final appearance. Hall is one of the top retuning players in the state and has an offer on the table right now from New Mexico State; he is also getting serious interest from New Mexico at this time. He will compete as a RB at the combine.
The other New Mexico athlete that was invited and has accepted an invitation is Rio Mares from Cibola. Mares has been one of the most dominate offensive lineman in New Mexico over the past two seasons. He has great size standing 6’6 and 340 pounds and can move for a man of his size. He has two offers to speak of right now, those offers coming from New Mexico and New Mexico State. In a recent interview Mares informed us that Texas Tech, Wisconsin and Nebraska have all and requested game tape.
So far this combine appears to be shaping up as a special combine with several big name prospects in attendance, including Devon Kennard, Corey Adams, Jamal Miles, Drew Terrell, Trent Murphy, Akil Sharp, Patrick Foley, DaVaughn Thornton and Taylor Lewan just to name a few. That’s not including any of the California players that have confirmed.
