AZ vs. NM: James Hall and Jeremiah Cornist

We thought it would be fun to compare the talent level in New Mexico compared to Arizona. Today we start with the RB position and we compare James Hall from NM and Jeremiah Cornist from AZ. Free story today, check out the highlights and let us know your thoughts on the message boards.

One of the fun things about watching high school football from around the country is to try and compare the talent from around the country.  We thought it would be fun to compare athletes from two different states and see what the outcome is.  So over the next few days we will be comparing prospects from New Mexico and prospects from Arizona.  We have selected players from the same positions and tried to find players with the same height and weight.  Some of these players have major offers from Pac 10 level schools; while others are still waiting to hear a school call them up.  Again, we are doing this more as a gage to hopefully, better understand the recruiting process and to compare the talent level in the two states. 

Today we start out with the RB position.  James Hall from Las Cruces NM and Jeremiah Cornistfrom La Joya in Arizona.

James Hall is the unquestioned top RB prospect in New Mexico this season.  Hall burst on the scene as a sophomore and followed that up with a great junior season earning all state honors.  Hall is a great candidate to be all state again this season and possibly challenge for player of the year honors when it’s all said and done.  James has two offers as of this point, those offers being from New Mexico State and also from Army.  He continues to hear from other schools like New Mexico and also several of the Ivy League schools have shown interest because of his 4.0 G.P.A.

Jeremiah Cornist is one of the quickest RB in Arizona this season.  As a junior Jeremiah was a first team all region selection in one of the top regions in the state.  Cornist rushed for more than 1600 yards as a RB, but is really special in the return game.  As a junior he was voted 1^st team all state as a return man and will no doubt be up for similar honors this season.  From a recruiting standpoint, the 5’9 160 pound athlete has an early offer from Arizona and continues to hear from several other schools.
